Republican Presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich was asked about his half million dollar Tiffany’s bill and he replied. “We live frugally”.
Is this what Republicans consider living frugally? Maybe this is why they need more Tax Cuts for the Rich?

I don’t require people to live frugally if they are living on their own money.
I require them to live frugally if they are living on MY money.
I couldn’t give a damn if a rich guy spends $ 500k at Tiffany’s. If you have the dough, by all means….
Frugality is certainly relative, but it’s probably silly for Gingrich to use the term. However, if he can afford it, I see no reason that anyone should object to his spending whatever he wants wherever he wants.
At least that stuff is made in the USA.

That was living frugally, back when the GOP was the wealthy elite. But that’s not going to endear him to the trailer trash.
This is the wrong fight to pick. I’m liberal/Leftist, but if he’s spending his own money, he’s entitled to spend it, as much of it, on whatever he wants.
I’m a Republican and I am far from being rich! I drive an 8 year old car, live in a duplex and certainly don’t shop at Tiffany’s! I live from paycheck to paycheck, but my bills are paid. Is that rich?

Why don’t you ask Michelle Obama where she shops, or Nancy Pelosi, or Harry Reid, or George Soros? Or Richard Trumka? Soros probably owns Tiffany’s!
Who cares how rich someone is? It still doesn’t give someone else the right to steal their income through taxes.
Nothing wrong with a scam artist spending ill gotten monies….there is plenty wrong and Newt has managed to keep himself out of jail just barely. Is this what Republicans now defend? Fly we just don’t know enough right now he and his family might have bought 50,000 ten dollar gifts over the years. We just don’t know enough as some people do have privacy. Then again he might be running to get some cash, last time seemed that some on both sides of the fence were running for that reason. lOL
